Angling Direct chain reveals huge sales figures
The rapidly expanding Angling Direct chain of tackle shops has revealed a surge in revenue for the last 12 months.
Sales generated from the company’s online presence and 21 shops totalled £30.2m in the 12 months to the end of January 2018.
This figure is up from £21m the previous year, £16.4m the year before and £11.1m the year before that.
AD’s pre-tax profit for the last year is listed as £1m in figures released today [February 16], up from £0.7m in the previous 12 months.
The PLC, which is expecting to open three more stores in the next year, took £13.4m over the counter at its stores in the last year, plus £13.7m through its website and £3.2m on eBay and other channels.
Angling Direct bought three famous tackle shops in the second half of last year – Foster’s of Birmingham, North West Angling Centre and Tacklesaver (formally Trev’s of Wilmslow).
The annual statement also revealed the company’s website had more than 1m visits in some months and took orders from more than 40 countries in the last year.
Angling Direct’s share price peaked at 119p in the last 12 months, with a low of 67p, and was at 97p yesterday [February 15].
